Eileen A. Nagy, 86, of Darragh, passed away peacefully, Monday, Jan. 29, 2024, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. She was born July 1, 1937, in Darragh, a daughter of the late Peter M. and Rose E. (Socklege) Adams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Adams; and her sister, Rose Marie (Joseph) Getchey. Eileen was a 1955 graduate of the former Sewickley Township High School. Prior to her retirement, Eileen was an executive secretary, having worked for numerous companies over the years. She was an amazing seamstress, loved to bake with her grandchildren, have card parties with her friends and go to Broadway musicals. She was a life member of St. Edward Church in Herminie, where she would love to volunteer and was a home bound Eucharistic minister. She was very proud to be a former officer and longtime member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Bishop Conare No. 1853. Eileen is survived by her two children, Donald (MaryLee) Nagy, of Greensburg, and Lori Ann (Ricky Gray) Nagy, of Darragh; three special grandchildren, Melissa (Shane) Gridler, Jessica Nagy and Joshua Nagy; special great-granddaughter, Nyla Mae Gridler; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Eileen will be dearly missed by her family, friends and special neighbors. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. A funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, in the funeral home.
