Anthony J. Olivo, 73, of Darragh, passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. He was born Nov. 30, 1944, in Netcong, N.J., son of the late Joseph Sr. and Leona (Swisher) Olivo. Anthony graduated from Sparta High School in New Jersey. He was an Army veteran, having served in the National Guard in New Jersey. Prior to his retirement, he was an electronics technician having worked for Astro Nuclear Dynamics in Large. He loved his two cats, Mia and Reba, and enjoyed working on his computer. Anthony is survived by his loving wife of 19 1/2 years, Barbara Shanks Olivo; two stepdaughters, Stacy (Tom) Gongloff, of West Middlesex, and Brenda (Larry Sr.) Shaffer, of West Virginia; five step-grandchildren, T.J. (Hailey) Gongloff, Joshua (Monica) Gongloff, Seth Gongloff, Larry Shaffer Jr. and Kaylynn Shaffer; step-great-grandson, Isaac Gongloff; two brothers, Frank Olivo, of Florida, and Joseph Jr. (Patricia) Olivo, of New Jersey; sister-in-law, Diane Olivo, of New Jersey; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. Anthony will be dearly missed by his family friends and neighbors. The family would like to thank the nurses on 3North, the ICU nurses at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital and the Excela Heath Home Care nurses and aides for all their loving care. There will be no public visitation per Anthony's wishes. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, in the Herminie United Methodist Church, with Pastor Randy Landman officiating. JOSEPH W.
