Edith June "Edie" Steiner, 77, of Herminie, passed away Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born May 18, 1941, in Homestead, daughter of the late Walter and Sarah (Bumford) Hollis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Beth Ann Steiner; son, Wyatt D. Steiner; daughter-in-law, Shelley Steiner; sister, Jean Kosinski; and sister-in-law, Annamae Hollis. Prior to her retirement, Edie was a sales clerk, having worked for Montgomery Ward at Greengate Mall for many years. She loved sitting on the porch and enjoyed her pretty flower garden. Edie was very religious and her family was of most importance to her over the past years. Her three grandsons and their wives meant the world to her, and with their support it made many days seem so easy. She especially loved her great-grandson, Peter, who she so adored with every visit. Edie is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Peter J. Steiner; daughter, Shannon (Tom Wertz) Pasternak, of West Newton; three special grandsons, Seth (Nadine) Pasternak, Jesse (Jamie Kemp) Pasternak and Jake (Danielle) Pasternak; and special great-grandson, Peter Pasternak; two brothers, Clair Hollis and Jim Hollis, both of West Mifflin; and a sister, Dawn (Bill) Kosinski, of Baldwin, numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. Edie was a very special lady and was loved by all who knew her, she will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank brother-in-law, Larry Steiner, for his endless deeds of help and generosity and Edie's caregiver, Vicki Hamilton, for all her love and compassionate care. A special thank you to the neighbors, Aunt Dorothy and Phil, along with Nan and Jody, for always being there for the family. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, 724-446-7251. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Randy Sweet officiating. Interment will follow in Madison Union Cemetery.
