Eileen M. King, 82, of West Newton, passed away Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017, in Hempfield Manor, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Aug. 20, 1935, in Herminie No. 2, daughter of the late John and Rewbenia (Tepke) Hunter Peoples. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Ronnie King; a brother, William Hunter; and a sister, Rita Lynn. Eileen touched the lives of many by teaching Head Start for more than 30 years at Herminie United Methodist Church, where she was a life member. She enjoyed baking and making crafts. She was a wonderful seamstress. She also loved to travel to Myrtle Beach, "her happy place," with her husband and family. Eileen is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, William "Bill" A. King; six sons, William (Jane) King, of Clairton, Jerry King, of Herminie, David (Jennene) King, of Sutersville, Randy (Diane) King, of Herminie, Brian King, of West Newton, and Scott King, of Erie; three daughters, Deborah Malt, of West Newton, Rita King, of West Newton, and Laurie (Francis) Puklavec, of Herminie; 17 special grandchildren and 14 special great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly; three special sisters, Ruth (Nan) Bodnar, Rhonda (Roger) Anthony and Roxie Spoonhoward, all of Herminie; a brother, Richard Peoples; sister-in-law, Helena King of Jeannette; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. Eileen is also survived by Sue Pace, of Herminie, who was like an adopted daughter to her. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends she has made over the years near and far. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Hempfield Manor and Three Rivers Hospice for all the love and continued care given to their mom. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Randy Landman officiating. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery, West Newton.
