George J. Hazuza, 87, of Rillton, passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 7, 1930, in Rillton, son of the late Martin and Frances (Bohacik) Hazuza. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Julia Hrapchak and Frances (Sis) Fink. George was proud to be a Marine veteran, having served during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he was co-owner with his wife, Betty, of Hazuza's Greenhouse, located in Rillton, for more than 55 years, where he was still helping out in the greenhouse, always smiling and building carry-out boxes for his customers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially vacationing in his motor home with his wife. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his family. George is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty Jean (Kauffman) Hazuza; three daughters, Kim (Mark) Stawicki, of North Huntingdon, Sharon (Mark) Primus, of Penn, and Debora Lightner, of North Huntingdon; his son, Greg (Cindy) Hazuza, of Rillton; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. He is also survived by his cat, Ginger, whom he loved dearly. George was a kind, caring, giving man and his love for his family and friends will forever remain in our hearts; he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank Family Hospice for all their compassionate care over the past few weeks. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the JOSEPH W.
