Larry J. Mismas, 63, of West Newton, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Dec. 18, 1954, in Greensburg, son of the late Joseph W. and Mary (Hribar) Mismas Jr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Barbara Mismas. Larry was currently an assistant professor (mathematics) at St. Vincent College in Latrobe for the past 26 years. Everyone who knew Larry knew his love for teaching; he always had his nose in the books and loved working with computers. Teaching math was his life, although he loved spending time with his friends and was a very good listener. He also had his favorite TV shows, "Beverly Hillbillies" and "Everybody Loves Raymond." Larry is survived by his fiancee, his sweetheart and love of his life for the past 29 years, Laura Ann Chaybin; a brother, James L. "Jimmy" Mismas, of Zelienople; two nieces, Jaime Reno and Leann Mismas; and two special great-nieces, Reanna Reno and Krislyn Duncan. He is also survived by his three special cats. Larry will be dearly missed by his family, friends and students he has taught over the years. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the JOSEPH W.
