Lee P. Dolfi

Lee P.  Dolfi, 73 of Jeannette, passed away Dec. 25, 2017, after a yearlong hard fought battle with cancer.   Lee passed at his home on Christmas day “his favorite time of the year” surrounded by his loving family.  He was born July 14, 1944 in Webster, son of the late Salvatore and Rina (Marraccini) Dolfi.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Ernie Dolfi and brother-in-law, Thomas ‘Sush” Sassak.  Lee was a US Airforce Veteran having served during Vietnam . Prior to his retirement he was a pipefitter having worked as the training coordinator for the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 354 for more than 40 years.  Lee was an avid golfer and belonged to the Pleasant Valley Country Club in Connellsville. He also enjoyed going to the local casinos but especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and was always the life of the party.  Lee is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Linda (Scheeley) Dolfi; two sons, Paul  (Jeanette) Dolfi of Georgia and Derrick  (Tippi) Dolfi of Belle Vernon; two daughters, Jamie (Derek) Basignani of MD and Jodi  (Justin) Vestrand of Jeannette; six special grandchildren,  Natalie, Ashley and Rylie Dolfi, Andrew Dolfi and Nico and Elianna Basignani; a sister, Louise Sassak of Belle Vernon;  numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Lee will be dearly missed by his family, friends and special neighbors. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2p.m. to 8p.m. at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251.   Prayers will begin at 8:45 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in Ascension Church, Jeannette.
