Sherrill "Dusty" Beddick, 64, of Herminie, passed away Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, after a short, courageous battle with cancer. Born Oct. 1, 1953, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Madeline (Murray) Lilja. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Scotty and Dan Lilja. Dusty was a loving, caring, and giving woman, as well as an unselfish wife, passionate mother, energetic grandmother, dependable sister, and fun aunt. She enjoyed Steelers and Pitt Panthers football. Her infectious smile and personality lit up the room. She was so proud of her sunflower garden and was an avid admirer of the sunshine and swimming. Dusty had a special love and unique connection for all animals. Most of all, she was happiest when showering her love and positive energy upon her grandchildren. Dusty is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, David L. Beddick Sr.; daughter, Melissa Miller, of Bethel Park; son, David L. (Dayna) Beddick Jr., of Florida; five grandchildren, Maksim, Mathis, Madden, Fiorella, and Emilia, whom she loved dearly; three sisters, Darlene (Jim) Dempsey, of Plum, Peggy Knott, of DuBois, and Dolores Civiletti, of Carnegie; sister-in-law, Gayle Lilja, of Florida; three brothers, Bob (Michele) Lilja, of Monroeville, Gregory Lilja, and Shawn (Michelle) Lilja, both of Greensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and many cousins. Dusty will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for all their love and compassionate care. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, Pa., 724-446-7251. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Beth Dunlap officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
