Virginia N. (Vay) Kroll, 90, of Lowber, passed away Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, in Newhaven Court at Lindwood, Greensburg. She was born Feb. 21, 1927, in Liberty Borough, daughter of the late John (Bob) and Alva (Ferretti) Vay. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kroll, in 2015, and a brother, Robert Vay. Virginia was a member of Holy Family Church in West Newton. She was a volunteer at Jeannette Hospital for many years. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Lois Jean (Gregg) Kretchun, of West Newton; grandson, Kevin (Amanda) Kretchun; three great-grandchildren, Eleni Jean, Caitlin Louise and Joseph Allen; a sister-in-law, Catherine Vay, of Lowber; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Newhaven and Bridges Hospice for all their support and compassionate care. Per Virginia's wishes, there will be no public visitation, and interment will be private. JOSEPH W.
