Wilda C. Kertis, 86, of Rillton, passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, in UPMC East, Monroeville. She was born July 21, 1931, in Versailles Township, daughter of the late William F. and Brunice (Pikulski) Trozzo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Kertis; daughter, Paula HamYoung; son, Charles A. Kertis; son-in-law, Richard HamYoung; brother, William (Homer) Trozzo Jr. and brother-in-law, Dr. John Pepper. Prior to her retirement, Wilda had worked for the US Postal Service as postmaster in Rillton for more than 20 years. She was a member of St. Edward Church in Herminie. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson. She enjoyed watching football, but most of all she loved watching "Dancing with the Stars" with her friends every Monday evening. Wilda is survived by her son, Joseph W. (Jeanne) Kertis, of Herminie; daughter, Marie (Robert) Fennell, of Richmond, Va.; daughter-in-law, Maribeth Kertis, of Rillton; five special grandchildren, Christine (Michael) Ortiz, Matthew (Brittany) Fennell, Joseph Kertis, Janine Fennell and Stephen Kertis; special great-grandson, Logan Fennell; sister, Patricia Pepper, of Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Wilda will be dearly missed by her family, special friends and neighbors. As per Wilda's wishes, there will be no public visitation. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, in St. Edward Church, Herminie. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
