Welcome to the memorial page for

Agnes Teresa (Anzur) Wilson

June 8, 1923 ~ April 21, 2016 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Agnes Teresa Wilson, 92, of Rillton, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, April 21, 2016, at Bethlen Home, Ligonier surrounded by her family. She was born June 8, 1923, in Herminie No. 2, daughter of the late Gregor and Mary (Hudak) Anzur. She goes to join her husband of 61 years, the late Howard Daniel Wilson Jr. Agnes will be much missed by her surviving children, Elaine Palmer, of Latrobe, Beverly (Jim) Fawcett, of Irwin, Joyce (Don) Kunkle, of Irwin, Carol (Todd) Hrtyanski, of Greensburg, and Dennis (Leana) Wilson, of Colorado. Agnes was also preceded in death by her son, Kevin Wilson, and also an infant son; two sisters and four brothers. Mom will also be missed by her 22 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was such a blessing to her family and lived for most of her life in Rillton, a home that her husband and she built together with their own hands and hard work. Agnes was a member of the SNPJ Lodge 87, in Herminie. We have fond memories of growing up listening to polkas played on the Slovenia Radio show every Saturday and Sunday morning. She was also a member of the Sunshine Club and Rosary Club, both of St. Edward, and the Norwin Homemakers. She also was a member of the Norwin YMCA. There wasn't a time when we took her out and about that we didn't make numerous stops to talk with people that she knew. She filled our lives with wisdom, strength, a richness of love and caring. She was a full-time mom, homemaker, gardener and faithful wife. We never lacked for home-cooked meals on the table, clean clothes on our backs and a home filled with the love she shared with our dad. We never saw them fight or raise a harsh voice to one another. Something we all are reminded of as we live out our own lives. It's a day of sadness but also one of joy to know she is finally at peace and rest and has left us with many warm and wonderful memories of her life. As we are reminded of one today, every time you see a carpet of phlox growing, think of our mom, the gardener. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday in St. Edward Church, Herminie.  PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO CHURCH.  Interment will follow Westmoreland County Memorial Park next to her husband and son. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation in remembrance of Agnes to either the Bethlen Home, attn: Activities Department, 66 Carey School Road, Ligonier, PA 15658, where she was greatly cared for and ministered to by a loving staff, or to Sewickley Township Volunteer Fire Company 3, 2567 Mars Hill Road, RD Rillton, PA 15678.
