Algiers Marroncelli, 92, of Rillton, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, in Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. She was born June 10, 1923, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Germano and Delores (DeGregario) Constantine. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bruno R. Marroncelli; her son, Richard A. Marroncelli; and a brother, Amadae Constantine. Algiers was a member of St. Edward Church in Herminie and the Sunshine Club. She enjoyed cooking, especially making homemade pasta for her son's restaurant, Dante's, in Rillton. She also enjoyed baking, sewing and dancing, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Algiers is survived by her son, Bruno C. Marroncelli and his wife, Patti, of Rillton; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Marroncelli, of Herminie; four grandchildren, Dante (Suzanne), Mia (Joel), Richie and Jeremy (Anna Marie); five great-grandchildren, Steven, Daniel, Karlee, Violet and Joel Paul; two sisters, Victoria D'Orazio, of Jeannette, and Rose (Dave) Zavolta, of the North Hills; also numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Algiers will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her love for cooking will forever be remembered. The family would like to thank the staff at Westmoreland Manor and Heartland Hospice for all their love and compassionate care over the past five years. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, 724-446-7251. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Edward Roman Catholic Church in Herminie. Interment will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
