Ann Marie Steban, 87, of Herminie, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, in Allegheny General Hospital surrounded by family. She was born April 8, 1930, in Herminie No. 2, a daughter of the late Greeno and Alma (Hutter) Orsinger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley "Stan" Steban; two brothers, William "Buster" and Robert "Bob" Orsinger; her sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Horwatt; two brothers-in-law, Adam "Herk" Shuglie and Charles A. "Chuck" Horwatt Sr.; one sister-in-law, Laura (LaVella) Orsinger; and one great-granddaughter, Kimmy. For much of her working life, Ann or "Toots," as many called her, was the head hostess at the Holiday House, an entertainment venue in Monroeville, where she got to meet some of the top entertainers of the time. Ann also worked as a product demonstrator at various local area stores. Ann was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed her crossword puzzles, watching the daily lottery number, her daily phone calls with her beloved sister, Nancy, and time shared with family and with her two dogs, Boots and Bonnie, who preceded her in death. She will be remembered for hosting wonderful family gatherings, especially her grand Christmas Eve parties. Ann is survived by a son, Stanley "Joe" (Lorraine) Steban Jr., of North Carolina, and a daughter, Brenda (Dal) Nelson, of Connellsville; her six grandchildren, Tracy (Bob) McNelly, of North Huntingdon, Cathy (David) Zimmerman, of North Huntingdon, Stanley "Joe" (Leann) Steban III, of Scottdale, Tammy Steban, of Mt. Pleasant, Barbie (Steve) Showman, of Everson, and Travis (Jen) Steban, of Ruffsdale; and one grand-dog, Molly; 11 great-grandchildren, Justin, Connor, Riley, Amanda, Bailey, Stanley IV, Tiffany, Audrey, Mikey, Brianna and Johnny; two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Shuglie, of Shanner; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ann will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. There will be no public visitation, per Ann's wishes.
