Anthony C. "Tony" Detar

Anthony C. "Tony" Detar, 38, of Sutersville, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016. He was born March 13, 1978, in Jeannette, a son of Anthony J. Detar and his fiancée, Kathy Toman, of Rillton, and Nancy (Getchey) Jury and her husband, John C., of Irwin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kelly S, Truswell;  his stepmother, Beverly (Kytchak) Detar;  paternal grandparents, Charles R. and Angeline (Spinogatti) Detar; maternal grandparents, William and Betty J. (Nuttall) Getchey; and maternal grandfather, John J. Jury. Tony was a self-employed contractor. He was a social member of Rillton VFW, Post 8518, and Wendel Herminie Athletic Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and riding his quad with his family and buddies. In addition to his parents, he is survived by three stepchildren, Ben Truswell, of Adamsburg, and Alex and Samantha Tucker, both at home; a sister, Deanna Schutter, of Irwin; a brother, Justin Detar, of Rillton; a stepsister, Marissa Toman, of Rillton; his "Grammy," Ann Jury, of Irwin; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who loved him very much. He is also survived by his special dog and pal, "Titan," and numerous other animals he rescued over the years.
