Audrey A. (Steiner) Breckenridge

Audrey A. Breckenridge, 81, of Herminie, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, in Harmon House Health & Rehab Center in Mt. Pleasant.  She was born July 15, 1943, in Etna, daughter of the late Raymond and Clara (Lisbon) Steiner.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Breckenridge in 1964; three brothers, Edward, Richard, and Raymond Steiner; sister, Mary. 
Audrey was proud to be a seamstress having worked out of her home for over 30 years, designing beautiful Halloween costumes and play costumes. She always had time to hem a pair of pants for someone that needed them quick. She enjoyed gardening and loved her flower garden. She enjoyed listening to music and loved all her animals. Audrey became a caregiver in her older years,  taking care of many patients. She was so caring and gave care with all her heart and soul. 

Audrey is survived by her children, Richard Breckenridge Jr, and Roxanne Greenawalt (Randy); four special grandchildren, Elijah, Benjamin, Grace and Jessica; four special great-grandchildren, James, Jebediah, Michael and Matthew; three brothers, James, Robert and Ronald (Marybeth) Steiner; four sisters, Irene (James) Santello, JoAnn (David)  Bowers, Ester (Ted) Gillis and Bonnie (Greg) Schwab; sister-in law, Lelia Steiner;  numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.  Audrey is also survived by her special friend, Mike Gebroski, who was always there for her. The family would like to thank the staff at Harmon House for all their love and compassionate care given to their mom over the past 3 years years.  

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.,  Tuesday, March 4, 2025,  at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, 724-446-7251. at which time a funeral service will be held in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Fayette City.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to The Humane Society of Westmoreland County, 139 Humane Society Rd.
