Audrey J. Hoover

Audrey J. Hoover, 86, of Hutchinson, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 30, 2017, in The Patriot Manor, Somerset. She was born March 5, 1931, in Boswell, daughter of the late John and Pearl (Hamilton) Yutzy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert F. Hoover, in 2000; her beloved son, Robert (Bobby Dean) Hoover; a brother, Johnny Yutzy; and four sisters, Darlene Ohler, Dorothy Wheeler, Lottie Klink and Nancy Kochasic. Audrey was a past member of the Herminie United Methodist Church. She was owner-operator of a small convenience store located in Hutchinson (Audrey's Market), for over 18 years. Her greatest pride and joy was to sell Avon for 50-plus years, and was known in Sewickley Township as Mrs. Avon. She absolutely loved her customers. Audrey is survived by her two children, Nadene "Sue" (Terry) Decker, of North Carolina, and Timothy (Becky) Hoover, of Greensburg; four granddaughters, Malia (Conrad) Wernett, Jessica Decker, Tarin (Joshua) Lashbrooks and Lakin Decker; seven special great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Izabella, Kaitlynn, Kami, Jeramiah, Nathanal and Hailey; four sisters, Virginia Polenski, of Virginia, Peggy Haer, of Ohio, Jean Decker, of Garrett, and Emma Grace James, of Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. Audrey's generosity and love for her family, neighbors and especially her Avon customers will forever remain in our hearts, and she will be deeply missed. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637. Additional visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday in Garrett United Methodist Church, 800 Walker St., Garrett, PA 15542, at which time a funeral service will be held.
