Bernice A. Armstrong, 88 of Herminie No. 2, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026 , in Westmoreland Manor, with her family by her side. She was born May 24, 1938, in Wendel, daughter of the late Waldo L. and Domenica (Sensue) AnthonyJr. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Clarice Smith and her husband Samuel W. Smith Jr.
Prior to her retirement, Bernice was a registered nurse having worked for numerous hospitals in the area. She was a past member of the Herminie #2 United Methodist Church. Bernice was an avid reader and love to shop, but most of all she enjoyed taking care of her family and friends when they were ill . Bernice also loved to travel the world and loved to spoil her great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Bernice is survived by her niece and caregiver, Valerie (John) Sever of Hutchinson; and several great-nieces and great -nephews. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends,and neighbors.
A special thank you to the staff at the Westmoreland Manor for their love and compassionate care given to Bernice.
