Carol Ann (Lash) Kelley

Carol Ann Kelley, 82, of South Huntingdon Township, passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, at her home, surround by her family. She was born May 18, 1941, in Darragh, daughter of the late George and Catherine (Steiner) Lash. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford N. (Doc) Kelley, in 2013; three sisters, Martha Miller, Barbara Defloria and Catherine Kelley; and five brothers, George, Joseph, Thomas, Robert and Richard Lash. Carol was a member of Barren Run Methodist Church in Smithton and a 43-year member of the Turkeytown VFD Ladies Auxiliary. She was known as Mama Kelley to many Yough High School musical students for 30 years. She loved going to bingo, shopping and was an excellent seamstress (especially making all the costumes for the musicals). She loved going to lunch with her friends. Her greatest love was her family and all the babies were truly the light of her life. Carol is survived by her four children, Joy (James) Keating, of South Huntingdon Township, Doris Kelley and Tom Grimm, of Ruffsdale, Brad (Deann) Kelley, of Smithton, and Tracy (John) Light, of White Oak; eight special grandchildren, Stacey (Rob), Renee (Alex), Amber (Steve), Tyler (Emily), Brittany (Randy) and Nathen (Anna) Jenna and Jason; seven special great-grandchildren, Jackson, Dominic, Lila, Levi, Waylon, Katie and Tessa; sister-in-law, Patty Lash, of Irwin; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Carol will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. The family would like to thanks Bridges Hospice for all their love and compassionate care. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, at Barren Run United Methodist Church, 569 Barren Run Road, Smithton, PA 15479, and from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at which time a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., in the church, with Pastor Kimberly Foos presiding.
