Carole A. Murphy, 79, of West Newton, peacefully passed away Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born May 24, 1943, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late William S. and Etta Mae (Lash) Neff. Carole was a true representative for the community she served. She was an executive board director for RWNES for the past 26 years and was currently working daily in the business office. She had also worked as an EMT for many years. She was extremely involved in the ambulance service, volunteering for any event that was sponsored; Christmas parties, the gun bash, golf outings, Halloween, Easter egg hunt and parades to name a few. Carole never missed an event, she was always there and always had that special smile. Prior, she had worked for West Newton Emergency Service for 15 years, cleaning and then dispatching. She was also an active member at her church, First Church of God in West Newton, where she sat on the finance committee for many years. She was also a greeter, worship leader, helping out with Bible school and volunteering at all festivals. She enjoyed baking and loved to make holiday candy with her dear neighbor and friend, Eunice. She attended bingo regularly and enjoyed going to the casino. She loved her family and loved working for the ambulance where she made numerous friends over the years. Most of all she loved spending time with her granddaughters, making sure she went to all their activities near and far. Carole is survived by her husband of 55 years, James (Jim) Murphy; two daughters, Kimberly Murphy and fiance, Chris Sitko, of West Newton, and Kelly Murphy and fiance, Nelson Lynch, of West Newton; two special granddaughters, Jordan Kelly and Madison Murphy, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by other family members. The family would like to thank AHN Hospice and Jefferson Regional Hospital for their kindness and compassionate care given to Carole. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and co-workers. May her love and caring ways for her community be forever remembered.
