Catherine A. “Cass” (Myers) Watson

Catherine A. "Cass" Watson, 96, of Wendel, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023, in Transitions Healthcare, North Huntingdon. She was born May 2, 1927, in Wendel, a daughter of the late James and Charlotte (Anthony) Myers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Watson Sr.; daughter, Darlene Watson; brother, James "Sonny" Myers; and sister-in-law, Anne Myers. Catherine "Cass" was a member of Herminie 2 United Methodist Church, where she was a treasurer for many years. She loved to travel with her husband, especially to Lancaster to pick up her grandchildren for their summer two-week stay. She was a very good seamstress. She also enjoyed camping, but most of all, she loved her family. Catherine "Cass" is survived by her son, James "Rocky" (Linda) Watson Jr., of Manheim; a daughter, Sheron Watson, of Irwin, with whom she resided; two grandsons, Jeff (Amy) and Matthew (Nicole) Watson; three great-grandsons, Landon, Kylen and Aidan; two great-granddaughters, Tess and Neely; a brother, George Myers, of Wendel; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also survived by "Sneakers" Sheron's dog, who was always by her side. "Cass" will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. The family would like to thank the staff at Transitions Health Care and Excela Hospice for all their love and compassionate care. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2023, at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, 724-446-7251, at which time a funeral service will be held in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
