Charles "Charlie" Sensue, 85, of Herminie, died peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born Oct. 25, 1930, in Herminie, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Caesar) Sensue. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret M. (Patsche) Sensue; two sisters, Dominica Anthony and Mary Hand; and two brothers, Tony and John Sensue. Charlie was an Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he was proud to have worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Herminie for more than 30 years and was known to all as "Charlie the mailman". He was a member of St. Edward Church of Herminie and SNPJ Lodge No. 87 for the past 38 years; He was also a member of the Herminie VFW Post 8427. Charlie loved to polka dance and listen to polka music. He was everyone's friend and loved his family. Charlie is survived by his three sons, Terry (Jackie) Sensue, of Fairport, N.Y., Mark (Michelle) Sensue, of Latrobe, and Alan Sensue, of State College; two granddaughters, Stacy and Megan Sensue; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, 724-446-7251. A funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will follow in Irwin Union Cemetery.
