Daniel J. Gaich

Daniel J. Gaich, 75, of Rillton, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. He was born Aug. 8, 1947, in Greensburg, a son of the late Daniel S. and Rose Marie (Andreone) Gaich. Dan was an Army veteran. He was still working for Shasko Global Logistics in Belle Vernon as an operations manager for many years, up until the day he entered the hospital. . He was a member of Herminie United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 472 in Manor and the Rillton VFW Post No. 8518. He enjoyed doing woodwork, especially furniture refinishing. Dan was the best handyman. He also enjoyed listening and dancing to country music. Dan is survived by his two sons, Jonathan (Jackie) Gaich, of Greensburg, and Darren Gaich, of Belle Vernon; special grandson, Nathan Gaich; two sisters, Linda (Tim) Knor, of Herminie, and Cynthia Gaich, of Rostraver; his loving companion, Joyce Deihl, of Hunker; and several nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. There will be no visitation, per Dan's wishes. A private inurnment with full military honors will take place in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township, at a later date. JOSEPH W.
