Daniel A. Kurpick, 76, of Lowber, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born Feb. 24, 1940, in Greensburg, a son of the late John and Anna (Kocevar) Kurpick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John "Buddy" and George Kurpick; a sister, Mary Ann Kramer. Dan was a devoted construction worker and was so proud to have built K-Vay's Restaurant and Storage Units from the ground up, alongside his dear friends, Keith and Kathy Vay. Dan found peace by being in the outdoors with all his hunting and fishing buddies and he also enjoyed gardening with his grandson and Denny. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Dan is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Gayle E. (Havey) Kurpick; his daughter, Jackie A. ( John) Naser, of Greensburg; two special grandchildren, John and Jessica Naser; a sister, Betty (Ed) Smerkar, of Greensburg; and a brother, Charles Kurpick, of Herminie No. 2; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Dan will be dearly missed by his family and friends and neighbors. Friends will be received Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, 724-446-7251, at which time a memorial service will be held at noon in the funeral home to celebrate Dan's life.
