Debra A. Montini

Debra "Debbie" A. Montini, 61, of Yukon, died Friday, March 17, 2017, in UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born Dec. 22, 1955 in Greensburg, daughter of Joyce (Leasure) Ross, of Yukon, and the late Lawrence Ross. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eliggio E. "LeeJoe" Montini, in 2013. Prior to her recent retirement, Debbie was a sales associate, having worked for Target in Greensburg for 15 years. She was a member of St. Edward Church in Herminie and was head cantor for 25 years, she sang for weddings, funeral Masses and all special Masses not only for St. Edward, but other churches throughout the dioceses. She enjoyed working at the former art gallery in Irwin for eight years, baking and doing cross stitch. Spending time with her family was always a special day, especially lately, she enjoyed being a grandma to baby Jules. In addition to her mother, Debbie is survived by her daughter, Jaime (Chris) Knauff, of Gibsonia; stepdaughter, Betty Jean Montini, of Herminie; two stepsons, Edward "Ted" (Elaine) Montini, of Virginia, and children, and James (Diane) Montini, of Irwin; two special granddaughters, Maria Montini and Julianna Knauff; brother, Dr. David Ross, of Herminie; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. Debbie will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, 724-446-7251. A funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Interment to follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
