Donald Eugene Sigut Sr., 78, of Herminie, and previous longtime resident of Gulf Breeze, Fla., passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016, in Walnut Ridge Memory Care, Greensburg. He was born May 19, 1938, in Mercer, son of the late Oldreck Walter and Mary R. (Bocsi) Sigut. Don was a graduate of Sewickley Township High School in Herminie and also graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in the School of Engineering. He worked as a professional electrical engineer for Westinghouse at East Pittsburgh and retired from Westinghouse at the Pensacola, Fla., facility. Prior to moving to Gulf Breeze, Fla., Don and Betsy were members of St. Edward Church in Herminie. While living in Gulf Breeze, they were members of St. Ann Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by his beloved wife of 50 years, Elizabeth "Betsy" (Krydick) Sigut, on Aug. 13, 2009. Don is survived by his three children, Don Jr. (Holly) Sigut and Lisa (Scott) Grandgeorge, both of Latrobe, and Daniel (Jerrie Ann) Sigut, of Greensburg. He is also survived by seven special grandchildren, Taylor and Lauren Sigut, Erin and Ethan Grandgeorge and Ally, Daniel and Lorelei Sigut. Don is also survived by his brother, Walt (Mara Jo) Sigut, of Uniontown, and a sister, Mary Ann (Jim) Berquist, of North Huntingdon; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Walnut Ridge for all their love and compassionate care. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Edward Church, Herminie.
