Dorothy O. (Ometz) Mansfield

Dorothy O. Mansfield, 88, of Darragh (Evanstown), died Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at Redstone Highlands Health Care, Greensburg. She was born July 9, 1928, in Evanstown, a daughter of the late Frank and Julia (Yezernik) Ometz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert J. Mansfield, in 2013; and a sister, Margaret Ometz. She was a past officer at the First National Bank of Herminie. Dorothy is survived by her sister, Irene (Robert R.) LaVella, of Irwin (Evanston); a brother, Frank "Butch" (Caroline) Ometz, of Dallas, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, whom she loved dearly. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
