Edward J. Luke 77, of Irwin, (Evanstown) passed away Friday, July 2, 2021, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born March 23, 1944, in Cowansburg, a son of the late Jerome M. and Elsie (Rothwell) Luke. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janet (Ronald "Woody") Griffith. Ed was a graduate of Sewickley High School, Class of 1962. Prior to his retirement, he had worked for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission in the trades (plumbing/heating) for 30 years. Ed enjoyed gardening and watching NASCAR, but most of all, he was a family man and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Ruth Ann (Cain) Luke; his son, Edward D. (Kristi) Luke, of Chambersburg; his daughter, Jerrie Ann (Danny) Sigut, of Greensburg; six special grandchildren, Ally, Daniel, Lorelei, Brandt, Wesley and Mallory; a brother, Jerry (Barb) Luke, of Madison; and twin sisters, Belinda (Tom) Derr, of West Newton, and Brenda Hopkin, of Ruffsdale; a brother-in-law, Dennis Cain, of Ruffsdale; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. Ed will be sadly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at JOSEPH W.
