Eileen E. (Anzur) Johns

Eileen E. Johns, 67, of Wendel, passed away Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at her home. She was born Aug. 25, 1948, in Greensburg, daughter of the late George and Eddis (Whitfield) Anzur. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald A. Johns, in 2007; father and mother-in-law, Frank and Helen Johns; brother-in-law, David Johns; and sister-in-law, Antoinette Johns. Prior to her retirement, Eileen was a medical transcriptionist, having worked for UPMC and Centers for Rehab Service in McKeesport for more than 10 years. She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and loved listening to the oldies. She was a huge German Shepherd lover and had them for many years. Eileen especially loved being called "MOM" by all her son's friends. She is survived by her two sons, Greg (Holly) Johns, of Huntington, N.Y., and Keith (Juliet) Johns, of Bethel Park; three special grandchildren, Katrina, Talia and Declan; two brothers, Chuck (Sally) Anzur, of Herminie, and Larry (Jeanne) Anzur, of Turtle Creek; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also survived by her best friend and companion, "Maggie", her German Shepherd. Eileen's smile and social media expertise will be sadly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Bruce A. Anthony officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The Giving Back Fund, 6033 West Century Blvd., Suite 350, Los Angeles, CA 90045, Ben Roethlisberger's charity for K9 officers.
