Eleanor E. Horvath, 100, of Rillton, passed away Friday, May 21, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born Sept. 26, 1920, in Irwin, daughter of the late Howard and Myrtle May (Schade) Wilson. Eleanor was a life member of First United Church of Christ in Irwin, where she was very active and taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed bird watching, Hallmark movies and Little House on the Prairie. She had a sweet tooth for chocolate and loved Cheetos. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Horvath Jr., in 2007; two sons, infant son, Mark Timothy, and Michael David; grandson, Chris Noble; daughter and son-in law, Julie and George Suchko; and three brothers, Howard (Dan) Wilson, Bill Wilson and Walter (Jiggs) Wilson. Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Barbara Saint-Onge and her husband, Lucien "Luke," of Colorado; two sons, Douglas Horvath and Jody Diperna, of Rillton, and Paul Horvath, of Oregon; two grandchildren, James (Chantelle) Noble and Jill Shearer; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews who loved her dearly. Eleanor is also survived by Terry and Joey, of Oregon. She will be greatly missed by her loyal granddog, Duke. The family would like to thank Shelly, Barbara, Sue, Nina, Kim, Meg, Amanda, Madison, Marci and Donna from Comfort Keepers, for all their love and compassionate care over the past three years. Eleanor will be dearly missed by her family and the many friends she made over the years. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, 724-446-7251. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
