Elizabeth D. (Fries) Steiner

Elizabeth D. “Dar” Steiner, 75 , of Herminie, passed away peacefully, Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, at her daughters home surrounded by her family. She was born August 7th, 1949 in Allegheny County, daughter of the late William J. “Bill” Fries and Rita “Jean” (Burton) Fries- Hogue and step-father, Wilbert Hogue.
Prior to her retirement Dar was so proud to be a caregiver for more than 25 years at Juniper Village - Wellspring Memory Care in North Huntingdon.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed music, dancing, and birdwatching. She also loved gardening, going to the beach and collecting lighthouses. She was a member of Word of Life Church in Greensburg. 
Dar is survived by her husband of 37 years, Walter “Sam” Steiner; four children, Chester Hogue, Kris Hogue, David (Cheryl) Hogue and Kelly (Patrick) Johnson; nine special grandchildren, Matthew, Mili Jean, David, Tommy, Dylan, Nathan, Ryan, Joseph and Nellie; four siblings, Rita (Bob) Gallizzo, Dorothy (Randall) Rogan, William (Maxine) Fries and Ed Fries (Lisa Spratt); numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Dar will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. the family would like to thank Dar’s caregiver , Nicole Black, for all her love and compassionate care. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 28th, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Word of Life Church,  4497 PA- 136, Greensburg.  JOSEPH W.
