Elvira O. “Dolly” Korpar, 90, West Newton, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 13, 2025, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, surrounded by her family. She was born Nov. 13, 1934, in Hahntown, daughter of the late Frank and Elvira (Andrini) Orsino. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Ange, Marietta, Jean and Annie; brothers, John, Orlando, Alexander and Frankie; along with cherished in-laws.
Dolly was a graduate of North Huntington, high school, where she was a majorette in the NHHS marching band. She was elected varsity queen for her graduating class of 1952. After high school she became an operator and accountant for the Bell Telephone Company in Greensburg. She was also a judge of elections for the voting polls in Hutchinson for many years. She was also a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union, unit 354 in Cokeburg. Dolly was a devout Catholic, who attended mass faithfully at St Edward Catholic Church in Herminie.
Dolly is survived her beloved husband of 70 years, Joseph E. Korpar; three sons, Joseph Korpar of Hutchinson, Jeffrey (Ellen) Korpar of NJ , Jack Korpar of West Newton ; daughter, Jodi Lynn (Dennis) Jones of Lafayette Hill, PA ; five special grandchildren, Joey Korpar, Mason, Kassidy, and Trey Jones, Jillian Korpar; brother, Albert Orsino of Hahntown; and numerous loving nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Dolly will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and neighbors. The family would like to thank the staff at Golden Heights Personal Care and the many friends she made during her stay there.
Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, 724-446-7251. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, in St. Edward Church, Herminie, with the Rev. David J. Nazimek as celebrant. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery. .
