Eva Rycman, 100, of Herminie, passed away Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, in RNC Greater Pittsburgh, Greensburg. She was born Dec. 2, 1922, in Sutersville, a daughter of the late Frank and Marcella (Baldine) Cassanelli. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Rycman; her daughter, Linda Gaber; two infant brothers; and three sisters, Enes Tepke, Rose Adams and Gloria Kight. Eva was a secretary for Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh in her younger years. She was a life member of St. Edward Church in Herminie, Altar Rosary Society, Sunshine Club and bowling league. She also was member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 8427 in Herminie. Eva was an avid golfer and was even golfing into her 80s. She also loved to read, and enjoyed playing cards with her friends every Sunday afternoon until it was time to eat dinner. Eva was on the board of elections with her two sisters for many years in West Herminie. She was a kind, gentle and generous spirit. Eva is survived by her son-in-law, Alan Gaber, of California; two special grandsons, Chris (Christine) Gaber and Jeff (Tracie) Gaber; six special great-grandchildren, Andrew, Colin, Emmett, Dillon, Reese and Nina; three nephews, Dennis Tepke, of Greensburg, Paul Adams, of Madison, and Randy Kight, of Pittsburgh; niece, Marci (Edward Patrick) Cassanelli, of New Jersey; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Per Eva's wishes a funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, in St. Edward Church, Herminie. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township. Please go directly to church. JOSEPH W.
