George W. Jarmon Jr.

George W. Jarmon Jr., 69, of Herminie, died Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born Jan. 13, 1954, a son of the late George and Clara (Ray) Jarmon Sr. Prior to his retirement, George worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Irwin as a rural carrier for more than 30 years. He enjoyed gardening, loved raising his chickens, playing euchre and going to bingo. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Debra R. Jarmon (2021); brother, Joe Jarmon Sr.; sister, June Cyktor; and niece, Scherrie Jarmon. George is survived by his children, Stanley (Amanda) Jarmon, Georgann (Josh) Gongaware and Linda (Brandon) Clark; grandchildren, Kelsey (Chris), Tyler, Tanner, Nathaniel, Devan, Ethan, Ian, Brantley and Braylee; sister, Evelyn (Charlie) Balko; sister-in-law, Marianne (Rob) Jarmon; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by his family friends and neighbors. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME, 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251, at which time a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
