Glenn H. Barton Sr., 90, of Herminie, died Sunday, July 10, 2016, in The Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Greater Pittsburgh, Greensburg. He was born March 23, 1926, in McKeesport, a son of the late Glen H. and Hilda Barton. Mr. Barton was a World War II veteran, having served in the Army Air Corps as a radio operator. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a laborer with Picco/Hercules Inc. of West Elizabeth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaretta (Walton) Barton; and three sisters, Lorna, Ella Mae and Jean. Mr. Barton is survived by his daughter, Lynn and husband, Dave Boettner, of Herminie, with whom he resided; daughter, Donna Marie Samarya, of Oxford, Pa.; son, Glenn H. Barton Jr., of Herminie; a granddaughter, Holly; and a great-granddaughter, Amiah. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
