Howard Anson Cook, 91, of Rillton, passed away Saturday , Sept. 2, 2023, at his home. He was born Jan. 2, 1932, in Wendel, a son of the late Howard J. and Anna (Fretz) Cook. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Pearl Kunkle and Dolores Luft. Prior to his retirement, he had worked for Penn Rillton Foundry in West Elizabeth as a truck driver for more than 30 years. Anson was a member of St. Edward Church in Herminie. He loved reading the Tribune-Review and had to have it every Sunday. He enjoyed playing cards with his family, loved chocolate, Stoney's Beer and Black Berry Brandy. He also enjoyed reading western novels and listening to old country music. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, he loved and cherished his time with his family. Anson is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Arlene M. (Prailey) Cook; son, Ronald A. (Jonette) Cook and daughter, Pamela L. (James) Newell, both of Rillton; five special grandchildren, Emma, Anna, Austin (Karlie) Amanda and Anson; special great-grandson, Kade Anson; sister-in-law, Bonnie L. Plassio, of Chambersburg; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Anson will be dearly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday Sept. 6, at the JOSEPH W.
