Irene K. Kuzmkowski, 82, of Herminie, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, in Hempfield Manor, Hempfield Township. She was born Feb. 11, 1933, in Jerome, Somerset County, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Yesko) Kromka. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter; her grandson, Jacob Kuzmkowski; four brothers, Joseph, Michael, George and John Kromka; three sisters, Regina Edwards, Margaret Brady and Betty Kromka. Prior to her retirement, Irene had worked for the Yough School District as a custodian at the high school. She was a great baker and enjoyed cooking for her three sons. She was known to be an immaculate house keeper and most of all she loved her family. Irene is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Henry Kuzmkowski; her three sons, Dennis (Lorie) Kuzmkowski, of Derry, Mark Kuzmkowski, of Plum, and Allan (Kim) Kuzmkowski, of Round Hill, Va.; two special granddaughters, Lindsey (Brandon) Rensko and Autumn Kuzmkowski; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
