Jacqueline (Jackie) S. (Lehocky) August

Jacqueline S. August, 85, of Herminie, passed away peacefully, Thursday, June 2, 2016, at her home. She was born Nov. 3, 1930, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Andrew and Vincentia (Trunek) Lehocky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael August Sr. in 1978; her daughter and son-in-law, Michele (Daniel) Jones; three sisters, Val Lehocky, Ella Stahl and Jean Popovich; and a brother, Albin Lehocky. Prior to her retirement in 2013, she had worked at the Westmoreland Manor in Greensburg for more than 25 years as a switchboard operator. She was a member of St. Edward Church in Herminie and the church choir for many years. Jackie was an avid reader, loved playing bingo and enjoyed traveling. She also worked on the election board at the fire hall and had made many friends over the years. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. Jackie is survived by her two sons, Michael (Rita) August Jr., of Corydon, Ind., and Andrew P. (Rikki) August, of Irwin; eight special grandchildren, Chris, Kevin, Dylan, Aidan, Darius, Celeste, Sierra and Savanna, whom she loved dearly; a brother, Richard Lehocky, of Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251.
