James L. Kunkle, 37, of Irwin, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Monday, July 10, 2017, at his home. He was born Jan. 24, 1980, in Jeannette, son of Richard P. and Cheryl (Lentz) Kunkle, of Irwin. Jim was a member of Madison United Methodist Church. He was currently employed by CVS Health in Monroeville as a pharmacy technician. He enjoyed fishing, camping and watching the Penguins, and was an Eagle Scout. He loved working on and building computers. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Lydia R. Kunkle and her fiance Jeremy Kolesar; a brother, Brian P. Kunkle; and his maternal grandmother, Shirley Lentz, all of Irwin; and numerous aunts and uncles and cousins who loved him dearly. Jim will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Bob Green officiating. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery.
