James P. McCusker, 94, of West Newton, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 25, 2021, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born May 21, 1927, in McKeesport, a son of the late Thomas R. and Elizabeth (Wohl) McCusker. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve M. (Shinavski) McCusker, in 2014, and two brothers, Thomas and Joseph McCusker. Jim was a Navy veteran, having served during World War II. Prior to his retirement, he worked for American Bridge Corp. as a construction engineer for more than 40 years. He enjoyed hunting and gardening. He loved his home and garden. He was a devoted member of St. Edward Church, in Herminie. Jim is survived by his sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Swank, of Elizabeth Township; special nephew, Kenny Shinavski, of Hopwood; special friends, Bobby and Laura Loughner, of Herminie; and several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. Per Jim's request, all services were private. JOSEPH W.
