James G. "Papa Jim" Minoski, 91, of West Newton, passed away Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, in Easy Living Country Estates, Hunker. He was born May 29, 1925, in Yukon, a son of the late Mike and Edith C. (Cicci) Minoski. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jamie Minoski; three brothers, Edward, Joseph and John Minoski. Jim was a Navy veteran, having served during World War II. Prior to his retirement, he was a plasterer, having worked for Pittsburgh Plasterer Union Local 31 for more than 40 years. After retirement, he and his wife, Dolores, his beloved son, Jamie and his wife, Debbie, were proud to open D.J.'s Bar and Grill in Keystone. Jim was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, loving the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates, watching them faithfully. He was a member of St. Edward Church in Herminie. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Dolores "Dee" (Cantini) Minoski; his son, Eric Minoski and daughter-in-law, Sherri, of Capitola, Calif.; daughter, Pamela Runac, of Pawleys Island, S.C.; daughter-in-law, Debbie Minoski, of North Huntingdon; three grandchildren, Colin and Justin Runac and Bradley Minoski; great-grandson, Noah Runac; two sisters, Lucille (Blaise) Forish, of Latrobe, and Donna Lengel, of Ruffsdale; three brothers, Mike (Mitzi) Minoski, of Pittsburgh, Donald Minoski, of Greensburg, and William (Lotus) Minoski, of Ruffsdale; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family would like to thank Easy Living Estates, especially Connie and Amedisys Hospice for all their love and compassionate care. Papa Jim will be dearly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Edward Church, Herminie.
