Janice “Jan” (DiGiacobbe) Yackovich, 84, of Rillton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 14th, 2025. She was born November 25th, 1940, in West Jeannette, daughter of the late August “Augie” and Viola (Salvatore) DiGiacobbe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Nick Sava Yackovich, Sr.; and her beloved son, Michael Yackovich.
Janice graduated from Penn Joint High School. She spent her career as a dispatcher, billing clerk, and customer service representative for various trucking companies for over 40 years, and retired from XPO Logistics at the age of 77. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, shopping, reading, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Forever the fashion maven, she was always up to date on the latest fashions, and trying new cosmetics into her 80s. On Sundays, you could find her in her kitchen, watching QVC and cooking for her family. She was an amazing chef, and her cooking and baking will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Frederick) Collins of Mount Pleasant, her son, Nick (Amy) Yackovich of Wisconsin; her granddaughters, Catherine (Collins) and Jonathan Humphreys, Lauren (Collins) and Shawn O’Brien, Megan (Collins) and Thomas Croxford, and Kristen Collins; her grandson, Michael Eli Yackovich; her great-grandchildren, Grace Humphreys, Mason Yackovich, and Torrey and Liam Croxford, and; her brother, A. Jerome (Bonnie) DiGiacobbe of Wexford, her sister, Judy (Guy) Moffa of Pittsburgh; sister in laws, Mary Nagoda, Angeline Babich, Catherine Anthony, and Joanne and Richard Stepinsky; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and her fur great-grandchildren. Also, a special thank you to the nurses and aides from Excela Home Care and Hospice and Brookdale Senior Living, Latrobe. Jan will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors.
