Joan H. (Wultsch) Brewer

Joan H. Brewer, 87, of Herminie, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023, at her home. She was born Oct. 26, 1936, in Sewickley Township, daughter of the late Joseph and Alma (Dolence) Wultsch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold C. Brewer Sr., in 1997, and a brother, Robert Wultsch. Joan was a graduate of Sewickley High School, Class of 1954. Prior to her retirement, she had worked for the Standard Observer, Foodarama and West Penn Power over the years. She was an avid reader, loved her flower garden and was the best baker and cook. She also loved to go shopping. She was a member of St. Edward Church, in Herminie, and Altar Rosary Society. Joan is survived by her son, Arnie C. (Sherry) Jr., of Scottdale, and her daughter, Suzie (Gary) Gigliotti, of Trafford; two special grandchildren, Nicholas (Akiko) Gigliotti and Jenna Gigliotti and Jett Craze; a brother, Frank J. (Joe) Wultsch, of Keystone, and sister-in-law, Joan Wultsch, of Arona; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Joan will be dearly missed by her family and neighbors. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023, at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME, 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, in St. Edward Church, Herminie, with Father David J. Nazimek, as celebrant. Please go directly to church. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Edward Church, 120 St. Edward Lane, Herminie, PA 15637, in memory of Joan.
