John T. Labuda, 79, of Herminie, peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 9, 1946 in Greensburg, a son of the late Paul E. and Irma Jean (Lauffer) Labuda.
For over 50 years, John was proud owner of Labuda Farm Service located in Herminie. Through the years, John built more than a successful business. He built lasting friendships and earned the trust and respect of countless customers who became like family. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and dedication to helping others, John always took the time to listen, offer advice and lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. John’s presence could be felt throughout Herminie , whether someone needed equipment, guidance or simply a friendly conversation, they knew they could count on him. His strong work ethic, warm heart and generous spirit touched the lives of many and left a lasting impact on all who knew him. His legacy of kindness and service will live on forever. John was a life member of St. Edward Church in Herminie. John had a passion for working on cars. He enjoyed drag racing with the East Coast Gassers and National Pontiac Group. He was featured in the Pontiac Magazine twice for his 56 Pontiac and 70 GTO. He also loved to do auto cross with his Pontiac Fiero and belonged to the North Hills Sports Car Club and enjoyed Track Night in America. He was also a member of the Herminie Ridge Runners, driving dune buggies over the dunes in Michigan with his buddies for many years.
John is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Linda (Guardasoni) Labuda ; two sons, Thomas Labuda (fiancé Janet) of Darragh and Jeffrey (Rebecca) Labuda of Herminie: three special granddaughters, Laura Labuda (husband Ashley Hulon), Lacey Labuda (fiancé Greg), and Lindsey Labuda; sister Paula Labuda of North Huntington; several nieces and nephews, and cousins.
John will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and countless customers he made over the years. The family would like to thank the staff at Monarch Hospice for all their love and compassionate care given to John.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8pm Thursday, June 25 , 2026 at the Joseph W. Nickels Funeral Home Inc. 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday June 26, 2026 in St. Edward Church, 120 St. Edward Lane, Herminie, PA,, with Rev. David Nazimek as celebrant.
