John E. Vezzani, 73, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Dec. 30, 1947, in McKeesport, a son of the late Robert and Rose Marie (Antonella) Vezzani. Prior to his retirement John was a machinist having worked for Westinghouse in Waltz Mill, East McKeesport and and Chiswick for more than 40 years. He was owner, along with his grandson Jesse of Valley Motors Service and Torri Motors Service LLC located in Elizabeth Township. John was former president of Sutersville Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, Trap shooting and fishing with his family and friends. He was a very special husband, dad and grandfather. He will forever be remembered for his love for his family and kind heart. John is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sharon Lee (Wood) Vezzani; his two daughters, Debbie (Marty) Slobodnik of West Newton and Marcie (Dave) Torri of Jeannette; seven special grandchildren, Heather (Ryan) Wapiennik, Marti (Shane) Zeppenfeld, Jesse Torri, Holly (Alec) Slobodnik, Josh, Allisa and Ashley Torri; special great-granddaughter, Adalynn Wapiennik; two brothers, Robert Vezzani of Green Oak and Tim (Toni) Vezzani of North Huntingdon; two sisters, Barb Gahagen of West Newton and Kathy Rea of McKeesport; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He is also survived by his dog “companion” Levi. John will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. A funeral service will be held at NOON on Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery. Please be prepared to adhere to all the current CDC guidelines, including face masks and social distancing.
