Joseph A. Dulkis

Joseph A. Dulkis, 92, of Arona, passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born March 27, 1924, in Arona, son of the late Michael and Anna (Kurpolin) Dulkis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Isabelle (VanDyke) Dulkis; a son, Francis Dulkis; four brothers, Michael Jr., John, William and Charles Dulkis; and a sister, Ann Clemens. He was also preceded in death by his beloved companion, Betty Hutchinson. Joe was an Army veteran, having served during World War II. Prior to his retirement, he was an accountant for Robertshaw for more than 30 years. Joe was secretary for Arona Borough for more than 50 years and was a member of St. Edward Church in Herminie. Joe is survived by his daughter, Pauline (Virgil) Barton, of Jefferson Hills; three sons, Joseph (Mary) Dulkis, of Florida, and Steven and Darrell Dulkis, both of Arona; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Smith, of Hempfield Township; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family would like to thank Lindsay, Tina and Angela of Excela Health Hospice for all their love and respectful, compassionate care to their father. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the JOSEPH W.
