Joseph E. Pytlak, 90, of Rillton, passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born July 29, 1926 in Ernest, PA, son of the late Peter and Mary (Kolveck) Pytlak. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters. Prior to his retirement, Joe was a self employed cement contractor for 40 years . His motto was “have trowel will travel.” Joe was a member of St. Edward Church in Herminie, Sewickley Area Lions Club, S.N.P.J. Lodge 41 in Rillton and also a social member of the VFW Post # 8518 in Rillton. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Frances (Shuster) Pytlak; four sons, Joe (Kathy) Pytlak, Dave (Jodie) Pytlak , Stan (Avis) Pytlak, Jeff (Laurie) Pytlak; two daughters, Sharon (Ron) Sedlak and Kathy (Barry) Hickey; fifteen grandchildren, Cassandra, Ron, Karrisa, Justin, Sarah, Nina, Nichole, Jessica, Alicia, Ryan, Gloria, Devin, Jacob, Morgan, Russell and two great-grandchildren, Marie, Jordan and one on the way; a sister, Frances Pontiero; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.Joe will be dearly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. A funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
