KARL S. Semekoski

Karl S. Semekoski, 82 of Darragh, Pa., peacefully passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025, in Walden’s View Senior Living in Irwin, surrounded by his family. He was born Nov. 8, 1942, in Charleroi, son of the late Steven and Florence Starzynski Semekoski. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Steven Tyler Semekoski. Prior to his retirement, Karl was a biology and computer science teacher for more than 35 years in the Yough School District. He was a past member of St. Edward Church in Herminie. Karl was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed tournament bass fishing and loved to go walleye fishing with his grandkids. He loved the outdoors. He loved gardening and had a huge garden. He was also an excellent cook. Spending time with his family and grandchildren was his pride and joy. Karl is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Dorothy Duda Semekoski; son, Steven J. (Mary Lynn) Semekoski of Hunker; and daughter, Leigh Ann Anderson and her fiancé, Michael Schrag of North Huntingdon; three special grandchildren, Thomas Karl Anderson, Jeffrey Pierce Anderson, and Sarah Nicole Semekoski; a brother, Mark “Sam” (Jane) Semekoski of Ruffs Dale and sister, Suellen Semekoski of Chicago; numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his grand-beagle, Amelia. Karl will be dearly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. The family would like to thank the staff at Walden’s View and Monarch Hospice for all their love, kindness, and passionate care given to Karl. There will be no services. JOSEPH W.
