Kathryn E. "Katy" Celio, 67, of Herminie, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, with her family by her side. She was born Aug. 16, 1955, in Greensburg, daughter of the late Willis and Freda (Graegor) Shick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Antonio Celio Jr.; a brother, John E. Shick; and two sisters, Wilma Ultis and Janice Lipski. Katy was a past member of Seven Dolors Church in Yukon. Easter was her favorite time of year; she loved attending the Easter Sunrise Service in Cooks Forest and also camping there over the years. Katy held numerous jobs over the years but loved "Home Health Care," spending her last years before retiring as a nurse's aide at several facilities in the area. She loved to travel, especially driving to Erie with her family. She also enjoyed going to the local casinos. Being a grandma was her joy and she absolutely loved babysitting her grandchildren, but most of all, she loved family gatherings. Katy is survived by her loving and caring companion of 20 years, Mark Yeskey; daughter, Tonya (Joe) Hartman, of Wendel; son, Tony Celio III, of Wendel; stepdaughter, Christy Hampton, of Irwin; eight special grandchildren, Ethan (Mackensi), Alexis (Jacob), Garret, Riley, Rachel, Vanessa, Maximus, and Lola; two special great-granddaughters, Marley and Violet; her brother, David Shick, of Cowansburg; mother-in-law, Gloria Yeskey; and sister-in-law, Beth Yeskey, both of Herminie; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and her extended family. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Leo. Katy's smile and kind heart will forever be remembered; she was a beacon of light and a dear soul. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. She was loved by all who knew her. A memorial gathering will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME, 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. at which time a memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 5 p.m. to celebrate her life.
