L. Henrietta (Sames) Solomon

L. Henrietta Solomon, 86, of Herminie, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at her son Ernie's home, surrounded by her family. She was born May 11, 1937, in Sewickley Township, a daughter of the late Harry and Adelle (Fullerton) Sames. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steven E. Solomon; her daughter, Audra Dudek; two daughters-in-law, Kathy and Margaret Solomon; a brother, William Piovesan; three sisters, May Tucci, Betty Dyer and Janice Sames; three nephews, Richard Dyer, William and Ronald Piovesan; and her niece, Patty Pollock. Henrietta was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Saviour. She was very involved with her church over the years and she loved to volunteer. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her life. She spent many days at the baseball fields and especially Crabapple Park and Pool for swim lessons. She was a Cub Scout leader and helped with the Girl Scouts (cookie chairman). She enjoyed baking, cooking and gardening. Henrietta is survived by her three sons, Ernest (Linda) Solomon, of Manor, William Solomon, of Herminie, and Steven (Gail) Solomon, of Las Vegas, Nevada; son-in-law, Daniel Dudek, of McKeesport; eight special grandchildren, Joshua (Rebecca), Matthew, Michael, Daniel (D.J.), Noah, Lauren, Tara and David; seven special great-grandchildren, Anastasia, Nicholas, Alexander, Peter, George, Theodore and Andrew; a sister, Jessie Roycroft, of North Huntingdon; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews, whom she loved dearly. The family would like to thank the staff with Independence (Excela) Hospice for all their love and compassionate care. Henrietta will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2023, at the JOSEPH W. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2023, in the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, Irwin, with Pastor John Gropp officiating. PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO CHURCH.
