Larry F. Jaffre Sr., 66, of Herminie No. 2, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born July 5, 1950, in Herminie, a son of the late Marcel and Dorothy (Evard) Jaffre Jr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by his infant brother, Oscar; and nephew, Bruce Jaffre Jr. Larry was an Army veteran having served during Vietnam. He was currently employed by Advance Auto Parts in Irwin as a delivery parts driver. He was a member of Wendel Herminie Athletic Association, Hahntown Italian Miners Club and a social member of the Rillton VFW. He enjoyed going to Sprout Springs Camp to fish and socialize. Larry is survived by his son, Larry F. Jaffre Jr., of Connecticut; four special grandsons, Antonio, Trey, Jacob and Devon; two brothers, Marcel C. "Tunny" (Sharon) Jaffre, of Wendel, and Bruce A. Jaffre (Cindy Miller), of Irwin; and several nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Edward Church, Herminie.
